Why is this a thing? Kickers should be made less important, no more so.

Why are kickers so mental? It's a 33 yard field goal. There may not have been 9 missed field goals from 33 yards all last year either.

Agree..touchdowns should be automatic 7 or 6 with a chance for 2.

Serious question. Would football be a better sport without punting and kicking? I say yes.

ETA: I'm spit balling here. Not committed to my answer at all.

Steelers went for 2 both times on their first 2 TDs and converted today.

3rd TD, Tomlin tries the XP, and Scobee missed it

I mentioned this in the sucks thread. Tomlin went for two on the first drive today. In windy, nasty places this is going to not only piss fans off, it'll lose people money. They overcorrected the situation, but that's no suprise under R-God's regime.

Eh, idk about that. I believe kickers only made 93% of their kicks from 33-35 yards last year.

I notice everyone who was for the rule change isn't exactly quick to love it so much now that they'll be 10 times as many misses this season.
