In 10 years, the ad will be featured on the center of the jersey and the team logo will be tiny and in the upper right hand corner.

There's a Sixers' ticket market joke to be made in there.

Was there ever any doubt that they'd be the first franchise to take advantage of the rule?

I'd imagine they have one of the highest profit margins in the league considering the shite they run out on the floor each night.

I'm interested in seeing how much the bigger market teams like the Knicks and Lakers get for their jersey ads. I'm not really sure if $5 million per is high or low for these ads.

Is $5M really worth whoring yourself out for?

That's what I was thinking. 5 million is a lot of money, but in the scope of professional sports, it doesn't seem like that much.

True, but that patch is like 1.5 inches by 2 or 3 inches. It is hardly noticeable since it is in the team colors and isn't a distinguishable logo. $5MM seems fair.

I wonder why they aren't including the patch on retail jerseys. Seems like a good opportunity to inflate that $5M to a number much greater.

How do you figure that?

It's cool if they keep this subtle, but I understand the slippery slope arguments. Can you imagine if we saw Emirates or Qatar Airways slapped across a Saints jersey one day? All the baws here would go nuts that a muzzie airline is ruining the fleur-de-lis.

The people that are throwing out faux outrage don't see the big picture.

They are probably the same ones who think the SJW movement had peaked at its current state and the last we will hear of it is arguing over transgender bathrooms.

This is just the start.

It all depends on perspective. Most people would suck a country mile of cock for 5 mil a year / 3 years.

NBA team owners? Well, at least one would take the money for the ad, "whoring" themselves out.

I'm not up to date on the NBA's revenue sharing, but considering how much TV money is involved and how low the 76ers payroll is, I'd imagine they're very profitable from a margin standpoint.

I was thinking a weapons company, with the patch in the shape of a tank. Stark Industries?

Well they are certainly not getting as much money as they could from attendance and tv. And even though their payroll is low they still have to pay out all the way to the salary floor. And revenue sharing is much different than MLB, because of phillys market size they can't receive any.

Yeah after doing a little digging they're like the 28th most valuable franchise but their operating income as a percentage of revenues is much higher than may of the teams in the same tier.

ETA: To my knowledge they don't have public filings so it is difficult to get anything more specific on the financials.
