This is an annual topic, yes most people agree that 6-6 or 5-7 don't belong in a bowl game but everyone gets why it happens. Just move on

I get why you like bowls, as you said, but do you think it should make sense that most teams don't play many cross-sectional OOC games in the regular season?
We have had a home-and-home with UCLA, Kansas, and Bowling Green in recent seasons.

I mean there are different college basketball tournaments for teams that didn't make the NCAA or NIT tournaments. Are the teams deserving of a post game appearance? No. Will a lot of people watch/care? No. But the players get extra practice/experience and it usually beats sitting at home and ending the season earlier
