Yea I thought pulling Cole so early was kinda a head scratcher (not using hindsight) by all means have somebody warming up and ready to come in but he was pitching pretty good

Seriously, it's like he commits to learning from a mistake, but applies the lesson at the exact wrong time. he took a lot of heat for not even warming anyone when burnett was clearly struggling in game 1, then some heat for running Morton out for 1 more inning in Game 4 -- so he pulls Cole early so Garrett Jones could do nothing in a PH appearance.

And there's a big difference between leaving in guys who are pitching like Morton/Burnett were and leaving in a guy who was pitching like Cole was

I was thinking the same thing. Why not just have Cole sac bunt the runner to 2nd ? What a waste.
