when you are getting whipped up front and can't run the ball, play calling does not matter.

The zachary front 7 especially the D- line is huge. They just choked off the run completely. I am really disappointed in this area for Braydon Johnson. This was his chance to really show his skill on the field. Unfortunately he never had a chance the blocking just wasn't there. We did pass block fairly well. Even with all the that we very easily could have won. Missed deep pass on the opening drive would have been a walk in TD. Then getting inside the 20, 3 times and coming up empty really hurt. Missed tackles on TD pass after we went up 20-7. Missed sack on another long TD. Games like this you play the what if game. That is hard to do because if we make them plays them Zachary responds differently and you don't know how that goes. I just wish we had not missed on the many opportunities we had so we could have found out. Oh well great season, so proud of our boys and congrats to Zachary!!

Not sure what happened on these drives... doesn't Ponchy have a kicker? That's 9 points right there

I believe Brewerton said Zachary gave up
0 points in the 2nd half of the last 3 games. Hard to beat that

I find it hard to believe no other shifter RB in the team coulda been used. Matthews ?
Anyone to get to the edge faster than him.

Hank said he felt they needed TD's. As far as the blocked FG. Teams have been close all year coming off the edge but just couldn't get there fast enough. Credit good scouting my Zachary. They someone fast enough on the edge and took advantage of it. I think not kicking the FG's and going for it was a mistake but you make choices at the time based on feel of how things are going.

Steven Thomas has been his DC since Brews last three years at Livonia and does an amazing job. Does not get near the credit he deserves.

Who knows when Ponchatoula will be in this position again? That's what really hurts about the loss. Meanwhile, Zachary's core players are mostly juniors so they'll be even better next year.

Not true, but they still have a lot of talent at their disposal and they always pick up a couple cruits every season.

Brew got Jackson from East Feliciana and Holstein from LCA. Quite the haul. No telling who comes in this season.

Speaking of West Monroe, would Ponchatoula have beaten them or Destrehan? I'd like to think so. That WM-Zachary quarterfinal game may wind up being just as haunting for the Ponchy faithful.
