My favorite Diamond story:

In the fall of 2004, Diamond made a name for himself in an obscure Instructional League game during which he tripped and fell on the mound while attempting a pickoff move. The opposing Oakland A's prospects laughed at Diamond, who then walked off the mound towards the A's dugout and told them that the next person to laugh was going to be wearing a fastball in the temple. Diamond then threw his next pitch three feet behind the hitter at the plate and then delivered nine consecutive strikes to punch out the side.

Nicest dude ever off the Diamond, but a bulldog on it. Best Diamond story was when he struck out 18 Shaw hitters and hit a bomb at the plate.

The dude is delivering chips now with his dad's company

He was a hell of a competitor. Started the state championship game as a sophomore and battled his arse of vs Barbe and about 7 D-1 prospects.

Rummel couldn't hit Barbe's lefty. I think it was Nick Bourgeois.

I don't think Nugent was over used in 97. I think he pitched the quarterfinal or semifinal game in new Iberia then just threw the last inning or 2 vs Jesuit in the state final in relief of Mike Alexander.

Glad to see the Raiders back in the state championship game. Always root for a fellow Catholic League team. Hopefully my Blue Jays pull one out today, and we see a Jesuit-Rummel state championship matchup. Would be EPIC.

I sort of liked Rummel until the douche loud fan sitting behind us was calling the SS for Hahnville a Public School trash for having his shirt untucked after an at-bat.

The nail was when he was joking with some Jays fans and said "You must be LSU fans too.....Sore Losers and even more Sore Winners"

I told him he was a loud and obnoxious SOB and laughed in his face.

I know.....:csb:

Can't pull for either today

So you let one person dictate your feelings about the entire group?

Sure, that makes sense...

How did the SS for Hahnville play? Kid played extremely
well against Zachary. And he played pretty much the entire game with his shirt untucked, was more impressed with his play than his uniform.

He played ok, didn't hit though. His shirt was out all game also, don't know why.

I'm sure he's the only Rummel fan that looks down on Public Schools and shite......my bad

Regardless, I will say the Rummel kids seemed classy enough and honestly would have preferred they beat Barbe.

Great Tournament though
