The post he responded to compared the two.

ETA: So yet again, insecure CFB fan taking the first shot at the NFL.

Having a good football team will fill the stands. Kap doesn't help on that end either

In the Twitter comments, all the people are bitching about it being too hot in the stands.

There are way, way, way more CFB fans than there are NFL. Add up the attendance figures of every FBS programs from this weekend and compare it to total NFL attendance, and we're not even adding in FCS,D2 or D3.

Next add all the TV eyeballs watching a full day of college action, multiple games, multiple times, multiple networks, and then factor in regional broadcasts and ESPN3 broadcasts of G5 and FCS games. Compare that to the regional noon NFL games, the 3PM game, and SNF. Way, way more eyes on CFB as a whole.

The CFB fanbase gets divided up with multiple games at multiple times whereas the NFL pushes us to one game with all eyeballs on it then claims "ratings". False.

Seattle is definitely a Seahawks town over anything.

Don't know much about Minneapolis in those terms

The 49ers royally screwed up their stadium location. Temperature at the game yesterday was 95 degrees with a 101 heat index. The temperature near the old Candlestick Park site was 81 degrees.

No one wants to make the hour long drive out there. Public transit is a PITA too. Add in the heat and crappy team performance, what do you expect?

Why spend $500 to go to a game and deal with trashy NFL fans? I can spend $200 and be surrounded by family and friends and have a much better in game experience.

It's not like he was going to be with SF and get paid that money if he didn't opt out, fwiw.

Not when you suck as bad as the 49ers. I don't think anyone blamed him for the lack of a crowd on a 2-3 win team

Wait you mean 60+ college games have greater overall attendance than 16 (15 this week) NFL games

Feel free to provide actual evidence but I'd still wager more people watch NFL games. The ratings for the National title game last year was around 15. Ohio State Oregon was 18. That's usually what the Thursday night NFL opener and Sunday NF gets.

Some just enjoy college football more. I certainly do.

Pro sports in general lost me a long time ago.
