What if... and that's a HUGE MONUMENTAL PROBABLY NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN What if.. This Dillon kid turns out to be pretty damn good? How many redneck fights could we see in the future where new generation NASCAR fans associate #3 with Dillon and old generation NASCAR fans associate #3 with Dale Earnhardt.

Dillon is good but he's not " I'm good enough to be racing Dale EArnhardt's number" good. He only got it because he grandad runs the team and whose cars/engines aren't as good as Hendrick/Gibbs

The numbers are owned by the teams/owners. Jr. drives for Hendrick Motorsports. Dillon drives for RCR (Richard Childress Racing) His grandfather also happens to be Richard Childress.

3 belongs to RCR and Jr. drive for Hendrick.
I guess RCR could let them have the number, but he won't.

The reason the 43 runs, is because Richard petty is alive and owns the team.
He didn't die on his favorite track on turn 4 on the final lap in the biggest race of the year.

Why do you guys not like Dillon? Is it just because he will be driving the #3?
I don't have feelings for him either way. He just won a Nationwide championship and ran pretty well in truck series two years ago.
