The solution, to me, is to make 5A football an open division. Any program can play up to 5A and play in its enrollment class in other wports.

This is what the lhsaa commissioner has been proposing the last couple of years. He keeps losing. Why, because most of the larger public and private schools that are traditionally good in football do not want to deal with Curtis and evangel every year. This is why these schools are in 2a now. They use to be able to play up to whatever class they wanted, but those other schools were tired of not having a chance to win it all, so they said you could no longer play up, until this year, in which they are allowing schools to play up one class.
Curtis and evangel will be in class 3a next year. Good luck to those guys!!

Correct me if I am wrong. 6 of the 10 teams in the dome are private schools. Is LA made up of 60% private schools?

Did you got to the game today? I heard that Springfield had a banner that was in bad taste.

I was at the game, the banner said all natural, no recruits. I wouldn't say that's in bad taste. It's the truth. Not saying Curtis recruits either, because they don't have to kids want to go there.

A friend of mine said one of Springfields cheer/dance team moms went at it with Curtis because they had that sign, and the Curtis parent said they pay for their education while Springfield gets everything handed to them for free since its public school.
