CA you get 11 alone from Brady and Elway. PA has Kelly and Montana (8). I would think CA has the most but LA may be second

I thought Aikman went to HS in OK? I guess it depends on how you want to count it

If your going by where they were born than Elway doesn't count for California. Aikman was born in California but played high school ball in Oklahoma.

Not at state, I"m not looking up high schools, but Purdue has 6/50 games, 30/100 QBs from Non-BCS team (unofficially, quickly counted), and Delaware has two separate players (Flacco, Rich Gannon).

I think it should be birthplace.

I always thought of it as high school but that's just me. I mean I definitely think of Elway as a California guy.

I think that's more representative of "where are you from" than birthplace, but tougher to track down.

I mean, say a guy was born in Chicago but grew up and played 8 man football in Wyoming. Or vice versa. You wouldn't consider the guy playing 8 man football a city kid.

Yea it is hard to define where somebody is from. Elway may say he is from Cali. But I should have said born in my title as it makes it less ambiguous and easier to research.

Brett Favre grew up in Mississippi right on the Mississippi / Louisiana border.

Obviously not Louisiana... but he's right in the area.

Birthplace is definitely the easiest way to do it

Bill Russell was born in Louisiana( moved at 7 or 8) ,but I think he considers himself an Oakland CA product.

Russell's formative years were in Oakland & he probably barely remembers Louisiana .

Eta.: Did not know( or recall hearing) that David Woodley had died . Did not know about his health issues.

Not really, considering all the repeat starters.

Probably 70 or so to look up.
