Kris Bryant had a higher college K rate than Lewis.
16% K-Rate is considered to be above average.
LINK /
Lewis has continually gotten better, he has the size you want, the power you want. To shy away from someone because you want to be a box score scout is idiotic.
Also, why does this article completely disregard Lewis' performance in the Cape this past summer? Hit 300 with 7 homers and 24 RBIs.

Sherman says buzz is Moniak will go 1-1.
Hope Braves don't take Puk.

Yeah seems like they are gonna go cheaper to spend more money later
I don't know much about him but I've found it kinda odd that Cal Quantrill isn't very highly ranked on the picture I posted in the op but I've seen multiple mocks where he is picked pretty early in the draft.

Was in the picture for #1 this year before he blew out his arm in 2015. He seems to be healthy, but he decided not to pitch at all for Stanford to get ready for the draft. Most think he has had an agreement with San Diego at #8 for a while. He probably shouldnt go that high, but San Diego wants to go underslot with the pick so they can spend big on picks 24 and 25.

Well damn wasn't actually expecting to get so informed

If Puk is available at 2,Cinci is a lock to take him.

Hell no do not want PUK .
We need Groome, Corey Ray, or Mickey moniak( sign at less than slot)
Groome is a huge talent. Take the stud HS that gets compared to Clayton kershaw. And draft Bats with your other top picks.
Hope we don't pick Kyle Lewis the GA kid. His swing is awful. I was all on board but that swing and sub par competition.
Though I don't want PUK at 3. I would like Logan Shore at 40
College OF give me Corey Ray.

Im with you I've recently fallen out of the Kyle Lewis train though.. See above post
Do not want PUK or senzel
Do want Groome or Ray if the money is right Groome wants a 4 million signing bonus, we may be trying to cut a deal on top pick to sign other strong picks that fall to the 40,43 range
And I also like what I'm reading on Ian Anderson at 40,43
Or a Logan Shore of Florida in that range.

I don't care....i want Groome. I've already heard scouts are a little down on Kyle Lewis' bat motion. He's been compared to J Hey already...that and he has more strikeouts than games played, and that's at freaking Mercer. Frick that, give me another stud lefty arm!!! This post was edited on 6/8 at 7:48 pm
Exactly Take GROOME if he's there.
The Braves are going to piss me off by taking Kyle Lewis and his crazy arse swing... And comparison to Jason heyward... Not sure these people think that's a good thing..it's not.
He is so over paid.
Groome, Ray, moniak, or Pint.
They will go with the Georgia boy and look like idiots in 4-5 years when Ray and Groome are tearing it up.

I wouldnt be shocked at all of we go Anderson at #3. We had a ton of top guys at his last start, and he was excellent.
We could get him maybe 3 mil underslot, and then go after the hard to sign guys with the extra money.
Anderson/Rutherford/Benson
Anderson/Manning/Benson
Tons of potential options
Posted on 6/9/16 at 1:22 am to devils1854
Yeah I've seen talk of us signing someone like iAn Anderson at 3 mill and then use that 3 mill to distribute later.
Which I understand the philosophy, but if you are passing on generational talent or college bats That have higher upside.
Coppy has said recently in passing that they have a plan. I guess we will see tomorrow when they implement it.
I wish Moniak was going to be there at 1.3 so we can sign him for 3 mill. And save money with him.
And Possible have Ian Anderson available at 40 and give him the extra money we saved at 3.
Yeah if Rutherford falls he would be an ideal grab around that area as well.
I really want Groome. But him signing Juco to potentially come back as a redraftee in 2017 giving him leverage, and his agent has put it out that he wants a 4 mill signing bonus.. Means he may not be willing to deal at all

I hate when people get compared to someone who just signed a 200 million dollar contract.

Two things:
1. I take it Zack Burdi is the enigma of this first round? I've seen top 10 predictions and then I've seen mid-40s.
2. I hope the Rangers take Will Benson at 30 if he's there. Get us the next Bash Brothers in Mazara, Gallo and Benson in the future

Are the top 10 predictions assuming that he's going to be turned into a starter? I can't see taking him that high otherwise.

If he's there I want Dakota Hudson for the Stros

Latest buzz is it may be a wild day for Jason Groome. #Braves trying to land him at 40 if they get Anderson at 3. Wow, would be a huge haul
