Men's Draw
Women's Draw
Current Odds

The draws will take place at 4 AM Eastern on Friday the 20th, at which point I will update the OP.

Storylines:
1. This will be Novak Djokovic's 12th French Open appearance, and he is still seeking his 1st title.
2. Rafael Nadal is looking to add to his record of 9 French titles.

Notable absentees:
ATP: Roger Federer, Gael Monfils, Juan Martin Del Potro, Tommy Robredo, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Jerzy Janowicz

WTA: Maria Sharapova (suspended), Belinda Bencic, Flavia Pennetta (retired), Caroline Wozniacki

Fun fact: Stade de Roland Garros was named after Eugène Adrien Roland Georges Garros, who was a French aviator and fighter pilot during WW1. He completed the first solo flight across the Mediterranean Sea, and contributed to the invention of the first forward-firing aircraft machine gun.

There was some Swiss newspaper report that Federer is probably going to withdraw, but Roland Garros recently tweeted him practicing. Fed should not pull the punk move where you wait until the draw is released, then a lucky loser takes the spot. Just pull out now if the back is bad and let Rafa have his four seed.

Can't stand when guys do that. In some cases it's warranted, but he has to know right now if he's fit enough to play.

don't think Novak wins this year.

He has not been protecting his serve that well lately, even in Madrid, which he won anyway.

Monte Carlo/Madrid/Rome have shown holes in his service game and his opponents are attacking it well. Murray really took advantage of Novak not hitting his spots this past Sunday, and Vesely/Belluci have made him pay for it as well.

it has to improve greatly in order for him to get back to the final.

nonetheless, it will be a great betting tournament!

so do you like rafa or murray?

if murray can win the french, he all of the sudden has 3 of the grand slams and five runner-up finishes at the other one.

Yeah, that would be funny if his best major is the only one he doesn't have the trophy.

Thiem is mighty tasty at 40-1.

I like the move. Better to be healthy for Wimbledon.

Yeah I agree. If he gets healthy this year's Wimbledon might be his last chance at a grand slam. The window is closing.

it's probably his last chance but realistically last year was it. sad he couldn't beat Novak. but unless someone else upsets Novak for him, I can't see him winning it.

The problem Fed is going to run into much sooner than later is being ranked outside the top 4.

His last chance was Wimbledon 2014. That was his last official chance and it forever estopped any further statements to the effect that a prospective chance might be his last chance.

It certainly cannot be when he has already had said last chance.

Exactly. I never got my hopes for the 2015 Wimbledon and US Open finals. I knew that 2014 was it. Also, I felt back around 2012 or so that Fed should just skip clay court season and be fresh for the grass. But, I guess you need to stay match sharp.
