Did Mike Dunleavy inherit a bad roster? I thought he'd be off to a better start.

I'm not sure if they had a lot of people transfer out, but on last years roster I only see one Senior listed, so I assume that most of their players returned. They were only 12-22 last year though.

I'm pretty surprised too, but I admittedly don't know much about their program.

Any Tulane fans want to fill us in?

Pj hardy is shooting 56.1% from 3. Isnt he leading the state in that category

LINK

Eta: maybe he hasnt shot enough 3s to qualify. Although he is averaging 3.6 3pa/game

Yeah, but I don't think he has enough attempts to qualify.

He's taken 57 and the lowest amount I see in the NCAA rankings is 78. I'm guessing 75 attempts is the cutoff right now.

Well, state teams went 1-1 last night.

We'll get the bad news out of the way first as LSU lost 62-92 in College Station to A&M. No real bright spots there.

On a better note for state schools, Tulane went on the road to USF and got their 1st conference win 82-67. Sophmore guard Kain Harris had 27 points.

Tonight, there are 4 games involving state teams including one conference game between two state schools.

Louisiana Tech (2-1) tries to bounce back from a one point loss at home on Saturday as they go to Charlotte (1-3) to take on the 49ers.

UNO (4-0) tries to remain perfect in conference play as they host Sam Houston State (2-2) tonight.

Southeastern (2-2) goes on the road to play Abilene Christian (1-3). Southeastern beat them in Hammond by 22 just two weeks ago.

Finally the in state match up. Northwestern St (0-3) tries to get their first conference win as they host Nicholls (2-1) tonight.

ETA: Records for LSU & Tulane have been updated in the OP. RPI standings for all teams have been updated as well.

There were 4 games with state schools last night, including one in state match up and the overall record for the night was 3-2.

Louisiana Tech went to Charlotte and won 79-73, improving their conference record to 3-1.

Southeastern also played on the road at Abilene Christian and the Lions beat the Wildcats 56-50. Southeastern is now 3-2 in Southland play.

UNO hosted Sam Houston St and the Privateers dropped their first conference game in close one 70-68. UNO is now 4-1 in conference but is still holding on to first place.

In the in state matchup, Northwestern St got their first conference win as they beat Nicholls 86-81 in Natchitoches. The Demons were lead by Senior guard Sabri Thompson who scored 38 points in the game.

All standings and RPIs have been updated in the OP.

All state schools are in action this weekend except for UNO who doesn't play until Thursday. Here's the list of games this weekend.

Saturday Games
LSU (1-3) hosts Alabama (2-1). Will be interesting to see if the Tigers can put up a better effort at home after the disaster earlier this week in College Station.

Louisiana Tech (3-1) stays on the road to play Old Dominion (4-1). This would be a big win for the Bulldogs in conference play should they get the win on the road.

ULL (2-1) hosts Georgia Southern (3-0) in a big conference game for the Cajuns. Georgia Southern is the only undefeated team in Sun Belt play and a Cajuns win would put them in a first place tie.

ULM (0-3) looks to get their first conference win as they host Georgia State (1-2) in Monroe.

Northwestern St (1-3) tries to make it two conference wins in a row as they host Sam Houston St (3-2).

Nicholls (2-2) tries to bounce back from their loss last night as they go to Stephen F. Austin (2-2).

Southern (2-2) hosts Arkansas - Pine Bluff (3-0) and the Jags look to beat one of two undefeated teams in the SWAC.

Grambling (2-2) travels to take on the other undefeated team in SWAC play Texas Southern (3-0).

Sunday Games
Tulane (1-3) tries to win their second consecutive conference game as they host SMU (4-1).

And the other game on Sunday is an in state matchup. McNeese (2-2) travels to Hammond to face Southeastern (3-2).

The Cajuns/Ga. Southern game is interesting and can't wait to see it. As you mentioned Ga. Southern is 3-0 in conference with their three wins coming against Ga. State, Troy and South Al. Ga. State and Troy are one game over .500 overall and South Al. is even at 8-8. They've all beaten one another to get their 1 conference win.

Hopefully the Cajuns keep up the free throw shooting from the last game.

Seriously. If you only count guys with more than 10 FTA, the leading FT shooter is Bartley at 71%. Not great. The good thing is they get to the line a lot.

Question... would #1 in NAIA LSUA fit in among these teams in the middle of the pack?

They'd be towards the bottom but probably not the worst. They beat McNeese by 2 earlier this year, but lost by 13 to Northwestern St and by 6 to Southeastern.

The lone win of the night belonged to Southern who beat Mississippi Valley State at home by a score of 87-81. Southern is now 4-2 in league play and is in second place in the conference.

Northwestern State is currently missing our best player due to injury (Zeke Woodley). He should be back relatively soon. Demons should be able to make a solid run towards the conference tournament once he returns.

Had him and Jalen West (out for the year) been healthy I have no doubt the Demons would have been in contention for the conference title/NCAA tourney this year. Even without Jalen I think the Demons have a solid shot once Woodley returns.

Someone mentioned those injuries earlier in the thread.

What were their injuries? Did the play any games at all this year so far?
