I wish they'd make you play man to man from 3rd to 5th grade and maybe even 6th. That way kids learn to play man. Then when you get to 6th or 7th, you can play whatever you want. Like you said, teaching zone is super easy so it's not like kids will miss much not playing it in elementary school.

Teaching man is way more than people think. When to double-team, defending pick and rolls, switching, etc.

All the Catholic schools run zones because it's easy. They get to high school and can't guard the ball or play man because they've never had to. It's one of the reasons Catholic High sucks in basketball.

I guess Syracuse and West Virginia suck at basketball too...

Lol at the MSB rookies. GTFO if you can't hang

My dragons will get back on top where they belong this year

Just realized Aloysius ran zone schemes. Guess that's what you have to resort to when you don't have the horses like St. George.

Yes. I will be posting updated rankings on Wednesday, based on results for the tournament. There will be a definite shakeup in the rankings.

St. George defeated CHS in the championship. Chs beat St. Aloysius in the semis, and St. George defeated a non CSAA team, Runnels, in the semis.

Updated Rankings. Previous Rankings in Parenthesis:

1. St George (1) - Won the Sacred Heart Tournament in emphatic fashion. This team is looking like one of the all time greats this early in the season. Will the gap close on them?

2. CHS BR (4) - Had impressive wins against St. Jude, Runnels, Sacred Heart, and St. Aloysius, before falling to St. George in the Championship.

3. St. Jude (5) - An impressive victory over St. Aloysius has them here. Only loss was to CHS.

4. St. Aloysius (2) - Made it to the semifinals before falling to CHS. We expect them to move back up after some more games.

5. St. Jean Vianney (unranked) - Some late transfers have made them a contender. Will be interesting to see how they look once they gel.

6. Our Lady of Mercy - Like others, ran into the St. George buzzsaw.

7. Sacred Heart - Their best player is as good as advertised, but he will need more help for them to win some key games.

8. St. Francis Xavier - Has not played yet.

Dropped from Rankings: MBS

St Jude pg is legit... St. Aloysius has all the tools but needs to learn to use them.. They are stacked with size but don’t work together enough at this point.. IMO. They are the only team that can challenge STG in the long run.. Catholic would gut the league though if given all their 8th graders

Updated Rankings. Previous Rankings in Parenthesis:

1. St. George Green (1) - Another impressive tournament. The gap between them and other CSAA teams is still wide.

2. CHS BR (2) - #2 ranking is a little shaky after a SGS tourney loss to OLOM. They have picked up wins against St. Theresa, SFX, and Sacred Heart.

3. St. Jude (3) - Defeated OLOM before picking up a loss to St. George. They also defeated Sacred Heart.

4. St. Aloysius (4) - Was not in the St. George tournament, but picked up a nice win over a non CSAA team in U High.

5. OLOM (6) - Lost to St. Jude. Defeated MBS, St. George White, and CHS. Turning things around after a slow start to the season.

6. SJV (5) - Did not have a great tournament showing.

7. Sacred Heart (7) - The supporting cast is improving. Picked up a nice win over a bubble team in St. Theresa

8. St. Elizabeth (unr) - Have one of the best two man tandems in the league.

Dropped from rankings: St. Francis Xavier

ANY NEW RANKINGS

1. St George Green (1) - Nice comeback win against St. Aloysius. Strong hold on #1 ranking.

2. CHS BR (2) - Have a tough matchup tomorrow night against St. Jude that could shake things up. Have held serve as of late against some unranked teams.

3. St. Aloysius (4) - Hottest team in the league right now. Won the STM tournament. Have defeated St. Jude twice in recent weeks. Viewers will have to decide tomorrow night whether they want to watch CHS vs. St. Jude on ESPN, or St. Aloysius vs. OLOM on ESPN 2. It's a stacked Thursday night slate in CSAA.

4. St. Jude (3) - St. Jude tournament starts next week.

5. OLOM (5) - Another hot team with a big time opportunity tomorrow night.

6. St. Jean Vianney (6) - Not much buzz about them right now, but have some chances to make some noise in the next couple of weeks.

7. Sacred Heart (7) - Feels like they would be in if the tournament started today.

8. St. Elizabeth (8) - The bubble is going to burst for some teams and the fight for the 8 spot feels similar to the Western Conference fight to play the Warriors.
