But that same Bama has a body of work

This is all we have of this current FSU team

Which is why a 1-loss Bama is destined to finish higher

It’s not about earning it. The cfp wants the 4 best teams. Unfortunately, their best player and team leader went down. They are not top 4 watching them play tonight.

True, but Alabama has one more big game to play and prove themselves.

For argument sake, what part of the record should be considered?

What if a team was like 4-4 and then rips off wins against 4 straight top 10 teams in dominant fashion once their all world QB returns from a preseason injury?
This can be another thread. We don’t need to speak in hypotheticals about FSU though, the committee is tasked with ranking the best teams at the time. They fell to #5 with reason and their goose is cooked

What do you think they base their decision off of? It's all analytics. They've matched up with the BCS most (if not all) years.

Correct, and the team playing tonight looks like a joke and comically unfit for consideration

They are getting better as the game goes on. Are you even watching it?

If they accomplished the required mission, in the P5 (P4 now?), they're in. They may get throttled. But they EARNED it.
Well yes

They will be #4 after this and will control their own destiny

The ACC championship will be the deciding factor, if they win in a blowout, with a backup, they are in. A close win, final seconds finish, they are out.

I just don't see how they keep an undefeated P5 champ out.

don’t think there’s anyone who disagrees with this statement.

Some idiot radio host was saying they should be left out, because their QB is hurt and they weren't winning convincingly enough against bad teams.

FSU without Jordan is not one of the 4 best teams in the country. That’s all there is to it

It’s not about the best 4 teams.

This isn’t a power ranking for teams.

It’s about who deserves and earns on the field.

They can’t.

You have to go off what has been accomplished on the field.

Zero chance they are left out.

Exactly.

Travis out is a moot point the team is undefeated.

It doesn’t matter at all that he is out.

IF FSU wins tonight, they will be # 4 in the CFP with Ohio State # 5, Texas #6 and Oregon #7.

Texas isn’t jumping Oregon. One team beat a top 15 team. The other played Texas Tech.

The selection committee will select the teams using a process that distinguishes among otherwise comparable teams by considering:
- Conference championships won
- Strength of schedule
- Head-to-head competition
- Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory), and,
- Other relevant factors such as unavailability of key players and coaches that may have affected a team’s performance during the season or likely will affect its postseason performance.

Per the above, it does in fact matter. This is why FSU's season ends next week

There's no reason to over-complicate this, really

Not if they destroy Louisville like Ohio St did to Wisconsin years ago.
