I would think that they should be somewhat related.
UPS:
2009 = $40
Now = $100
FedEx:
2009 = $35
Now = $157
Amazon:
2009 = $70
Now = $709
UPS:
2009 = $40
Now = $100
FedEx:
2009 = $35
Now = $157
Amazon:
2009 = $70
Now = $709

You seem like you are good at picking public comps. Have you ever thought of getting into equity research?

cause Amazon doesn't have to maintain over a 1000 aircraft, not to mention all the other trucks and equipment..thats just a start

Amazon is paying low rates to UPS/FedEx/USPS because they are such a huge client. If UPS or FedEx were to shutdown, you'd probably see rates rise due to lack of competent competition (lol USPS) or Amazon might even start their own shipping company.

Because Amazon's only true compatition is Ebay. FedEx and ups compete directly with not only each other but usps, DHL, and a myriad of other shippers leaving razor thin margins on massive expendatures.
The fact that their largest competitor (usps) has a built in advantage of visiting every house daily and the ability to manipulate rates sucks for them as well. JMHO

This would be a game changer. I'm all for it.

You mean like a fleet of drones?

E-Commerce shipping is a lower margin business for FedEx and UPS.

Because the consumer shipping part of Amazon is only piece piece of that machine of a company.

No, something that could actually work. Put UPS and FedEx on notice.

No might about it. They already began taking the first steps towards exactly that.
Amazon rolls out fleets of branded delivery big rigs.

they also are leasing their own 767s and have recently bought a stake in 2 air freight companies.
