Vanguard Fund Mix

Rolling $250k into a Vanguard IRA. Any recommendations for an initial mix of funds? 48 years old with a 20 year retirement horizon.

50% VSEQX

20% VGSLX

15% VGHCX (very high historical...just not sure now much sector growth is left to maintain it above market averages for 20+ years...if you think otherwise, cut the last and make this allocation 30%)

15% VWELX





I would reallocate semiannually.

60% VTSAX - Total Market Index Admiral (domestic)
20% VWILX - International Large Cap Growth Admiral
20% VBTLX - Total Bond Index Admiral

If you like balanced funds, it's hard to beat VWENX or VBIAX.

$75k Vanguard Total Int'l
$50k Vanguard Total Bond

If you want to get cute, reduce total bond a bit & get some small cap admiral or small cap value admiral & some reit admiral
