Insurance fraud is a problem, also if you ever need to use said insurance...good luck.

Thinking of switching to Geico from State Farm and using my parent's address on the northshore.. My quote was ~$60 less for the same coverage I have now.

Not recommended.

You might not get caught, but at the risk of something major happening and the insurance company doing minimal homework to realize that you don't actually reside at that residence, you're screwed and not only did you throw money away paying those worthless premiums, you aren't getting paid for your loss.

Thanks.

This is what I figured. Guess I'll just bite the bullet. Orleans Parish.

I used to have the best of both worlds. I told my insurance company, in both email and certified mail, that I moved but they still didn't change my location.

Starting this thread is your downfall. If in good faith you "forgot" to update your address, it would not be fraud and they would still cover you

I did this for the first couple of years after college (mom got a discount for multiple vehicles being on her insurance). Eventually they figured it out even though I never had a wreck nor claim during that time. They told me I had to join up or lose my insurance.

I checked out some other companies and ended up saving about 50% per month (translation: frick you, Farm Bureau).
