In July, the U.S. economy added 209,000 jobs, more than the 180,000 expected by economists. The robust 222,000 jobs gains we saw in June were also revised up to 231,000.
The unemployment rate fell to 4.3%, as expected. In June, the unemployment rate stood at 4.4%.
Wages in July were also a bit better than expected, as month-on-month gains came in in-line with expectations and year-on-year gains topped expectations
From Yahoo Finance.
Time to break 23,000!

We need job market participation rate to trend in that direction as well. That is more important than the unemployment rate

How does economic news work if you're an independent? When the economy under Obama was improving my conservative friends didn't give him any credit and now my liberal friends aren't giving credit to Trump in this improved economy.

Give credit to neither. Put it on Joltin Janet Yellen.

from an earlier post...

I just don't know what's going to slow this market down. My guesses:
Federal Reserve Bank raises interest rates big time , like up to 5% during the dot com boom
Baby boomers have to cash out to pay for medical and living expenses
Some war that would make people nervous
Some foreign financial catastrophe that would flow into the US markets
With our huge national debt, I just can't see why people would say, "let me sell Amazon and buy USA currency "

There's also little reason to give Trump credit because he hasn't had time to actually do anything on the economy.

Agreed. It has risen for the last 3 months, but still under 63%. It was at 67% in 1999 during the dot com boom so what would you put as a target rate? Around 65%?

When this insane bull market comes to an end will it be Trump's fault?

So GTFO while the adults talk business.

Presidents and the economy are like quarterbacks in football. They get too much credit for the wins and too much hate for the losses. Sure they have an effect, but most major market movements are caused by forces a lot longer in the coming than who won an election nine months ago.

This board, as a whole, shits on penny stocks and is exceedingly wary of crypto-currencies.
Go be a political hack somewhere else.

No. But since he had decided to take ownership for the success, he should then own any failures.

The market post-election definitely was largely affected by Trump's election. Love him or hate him, the market has surged since his election.
