I have been researching rewards credit cards as I would like to start using one regularly for day to day purchases and pay off at the end of each month.

I don't travel much for work, if I do the expenses are usually ran through my employer (they book the hotel rooms, etc.). All of my gas is also paid for by my employer. Most of these purchases would be dining, entertainment, groceries, and other goods.

I am looking to save and redeem rewards points towards vacation travel. Can you all recommend any cards that would be best for my situation? I have read a lot about both the Chase Sapphire Preferred and the CapitalOne Venture which seem like good options, but was wondering if you recommended one over the other or maybe a card I have not looked into. Thanks!

There's a huge thread on this already that has all of the information you need.

I have been reading through that thread but 150 pages more like a book than a thread.

I think the top 4, in really no order are:

- Chase Saphire Preferred + Chase Freedom - read into this
- AMEX Preferred Rewards Gold (I use this as my primary card)
- Citi Thank You Premier - recently revamped to compete with the first two.
- AMEX Starwood Preferred Gold - great transfer bonuses.

All four of those have airline partnerships that transfer at similar rates. They each have their highs and lows, but those are the ones you should be considering.
