What's the typical percentage for an agent to get to sell your house these days... Bought a house 20 years ago it was 6% and my agent and sellers agent split it 3and 3

That is the standard starting point, interview them and negotiate, and let them know that you are interviewing several agents

Depending on the market you probably won't have much room for negotiation under $1m. There are a few flat fee places out there if you are looking for something cheaper.

You should be able to get 5% pretty easily.

It's negotiable. I have sold my home myself and paid the buyer's agent 3%, or 2.5%, or a flat fee of 5k.

Typical 3 & 3

I rarely charge my sellers full 3 unless I'm managing a renovation before hitting market or it's a divorce situation, etc...

If you have a well maintained home in a desirable area with no adverse facts, crazy easements, etc..., 1.5% is typically my fee to seller. But I always offer 3% to buyer broker.
