People like to throw IRR under the bus, but even in the example above it is superior to NPV if interpreted rigorously.

Hmmmm, that's not the way I interpret it...

Well, for whatever its worth, we usually had to plot npv/irr on charts, so that's pretty common now. I'm not sure I follow your irr v npv superiority argument, so I'm not arguing against you.

I breezed over his post but I think I need to read it much more carefully to piece together his argument.

Update on first topic: I've yet to try Opera, but so far Firefox is winning out over Chrome.

Next topic: Cars for young professionals. I'm in the market for one. I want something nice enough to do business in. I do not want something that is going to make the older guys at the office say, "Wow, this a-hole already thinks he's a hotshot," or "This kid doesn't need a bonus. Hell, he seems to be doing just damn fine."

Discuss. I'm thinking Camry, Accord, but new, nothing overly used. Decent gas mileage is also a requirement, so Tahoes are out of the picture.

Was the East ATL Beer Fest worth $30 last weekend? I say yes--the Abita Select Triple Haze was worth $7.50 alone and I got 7 samples of it. OTOH, the Innis & Gunn oak aged was turrible, one of the worst beers ever IMO, sugar content was indescribable.

Will the PIGS debt crisis or the enduring real estate recession be more detrimental to investors over the next 2-years?

Why does my wife keep telling me she wants an EOS with TDI when I tell her the diesel option in the city is not that superior to economical gas units, the MPG advantage over gas is mostly exhibited on the highway, and VW's can't be trusted to be reliable.

Is now the time to buy gold if holding too much cash?

Will the hispanics ever finish the G*-damn brick backsplash? In this instance is time really money given their low labor pricing?

Should a 30-year mtg on investment property be converted into a 7/1 ARM with a much lower interest rate when you know you will either sell or renovate the property for sale in the next 5-years? YR 1 is a wash due to CC's, then if someone buys the house in YR 2-3 the savings are minimal.

Will people currently in their 40's receive reasonable SS income upon hitting 67 or will it be 75 by then?

How does one know when to early retire if future healthcare costs are unknown?

I have no idea why I don't sleep well at night with all this running through my mind.

Man I would kill for good night's sleep. I think my vertigo is coming back too, might have to hit up the medicine man. I know its just stress, but oddly enough I don't even feel that stressed.

Tahoe is not even an option. I refuse to pay $80 for gas.

I agree with Accord over Camry.

I think I could do a Maxima. I drive too fast for an Altima. I hear they start hydroplaning once you do anything over 70.

My mom was talking about those the other day. I'm not sure if its that one or the Lexus, but one of them has a trunk so small you can't stand a pair of golf clubs in it, according to pops. Thats a fail.

If you have all of this running through your head ... :

... causing this to happen ... :

... then this was definitely worth it:

Time for golf ... I won't need to worry about that for a few years. Neither will you if you get the job you want.

1. Scoop will be here momentarily to e-rape you.
2. I have used Chrome since it came out. Firefox was great, but the best feature (add-ons) made it so slow it wasn't worth it. Chrome is just a better (and for me, since I use google stuff, more integrated) version of FF. FF is still a great browser though.

Ditto this and I use a MacBook Pro FWIW.
