9.5% dividend 2 weeks away... taking a bath today along with the rest of the energy sector. Keep an eye on this one.. Ex-div 10/13, div 10/17

Isn't it a monthly dividend?
Your post is a little misleading (likely unintentionally). You're not getting 9.5% in 2 weeks. You're getting ~.8%.

Yes, monthly with a $0.2416 dividend.
I own some LNCO which just owns LINE shares. I have it set up as a drip and it buys new shares every month which is nice.

LINN scares me... it lives and dies on fresh capital to fund growth and maintain its yield.

I agree. I made a play on it a year or so ago when they had an accounting scare and the price dropped significantly. I didn't particularly care for the roller-coaster that it presented.
Honestly, I'd stay away unless I was really in the market for an MLP and the tax benefits provided therein.

I'll add that if you're in the market for an MLP, any MLP, I'd look at something more traditional, like EPD, CQP, PAA, i.e. infrastructure, not E&P.
