Interesting to see if NYCB stock price will rise as this is a sign of strength.
If it drops, I’m a buyer.

I’ve recommended NYCB over the past week or so and currently own 100 shares.

Looks like they got to cherry pick and got them 80 cents on the dollar. Great deal for nycb-flagstar.

Not surprisingly the signet business with 4 billion dollars tied to digital asset business was not bought. Guessing circle/binance/Coinbase will have to keep waiting

At this point, I don't understand why anyone would want to own shares in a bank.

Aren’t you supposed to buy low and sell high? Are you saying bank stocks will be lower in 2-5 years?

If the bank is in good shape it's a buying opportunity. We have a yuge dividend in the short term and a price rebound in the long term.

If the entire banking sector collapses we're all screwed even if we didn't invest in bank stonks.

I guess what I’m saying is that when you think about the “assets” that these businesses own it doesn’t make me want to invest my money there. I get the dividend yield, but that isn’t enough. Especially when there is yield to be found elsewhere. To me, this just highlights the benefits of owning companies with tangible, valuable assets. Looking at the list of the biggest shareholders of CS just made me shake my head. What were they thinking?

Looks like my 100 shares will be getting called away

Had 75 more on order at 6.48 last Friday and cancelled the order

At least I bought a decent amount of SCHW...

I bought some shares last week at your recommendation. Do you think we should keep holding or sell quickly? I really have no idea which way this will go long term.

I sold 685 shares at the open for $8.94/share and 41% profit. Couldn’t pass that up in this environment.

Yeah I’m dumping mine today too for a nice 35%. No reason to keep holding. Take the profits and keep moving.

If you ever make 20+ percent on a stock immediately then take some, most, or all your gains.

You made a trade and it worked. Take your reward.

Thank you money board for this one. Bought 1,500 shares at around $6/ share on the advice like yours. I'll be taking my 38% and happily going along my way.

My buy order was at $6.40. The lowest it got on Friday was $6.41 so it never filled. Now it’s over $8.

I would not own a share of bank stock right now - not worth the risk for me!

Hard to turn down 4 years of dividends over a weekend.

Like everything, if you're willing to put in the effort to evaluate and differentiate, then there are rewards to be had.

NYCB ain't no SVB or FRC. It's quite evident right now.
Same with SCHW.

10% yield is a decent reason.

I would have sold as well, but apparently this acquisition strengthens their dividend, hence why the stock exploded.
