With cases plummeting looks like life can get back to normal soon, although I don’t think business travel will ever get anywhere close to pre COVID levels. What are some recovery plays y’all like that aren’t airline or cruise related? Looking to partially pivot out of tech into this area. Main picks I’m focused on right now are CIM for my tax advantaged accounts and DS for my brokerage account (Ancient Tiger pick).

Most of it is probably already priced in.

Yeah in airlines and cruises for sure which is why I’m looking for outside the box ones.

Since you asked for outside the box, NEBC which is taking Rover public (pet sitting).

Stimulus plays. Small caps.

With you though - think it’s too early for these guys. Haven’t really seen the full impact.

Everyone is saying this but I think it will once Zoom and virtual meetings have lost their novelty. Everything is cyclical. I say 2024 or so for business travel to get back to pre Covid levels.

It was at 9ish. Swing traded it once. I see it's at $20. May have more to go

SKT... Already rebounded quite a bit, but based on last earnings traffic at their stores already back to 90+% of pre pandemic levels. So decent dividend play already

You could look into mREITs. They were beat down in 2020 and basically flatlined the whole year. Meanwhile mortgage home loan origination boomed to record levels. I just banked with $MITT ER yesterday.

Plus, these mREITs are usually great dividends.

I tend to agree. We won't see the frivolous traveling of employees in the beginning once travel restrictions are lifted, but the amount of business travel will slowly climb back to pre-covid levels once this pandemic is behind us.

Boeing. Still way down from pre covid highs and it’s too big to fail in my opinion. Not saying overnight but long term I think it’s a real good buy at today’s prices.

Too late, the huge bounce for those was in late October. Go look at all the travel stock charts when the vaccine was announced. They doubled up

You really think airline stocks and cruise stocks have peaked? I don’t think they are even close to peaking. They will be the hot stocks of the summer

They’ve literally gone without revenues of any sort for a year. I definitely think they’ll bounce back; but, at what point do they become profitable again? Months? Years? Many years?

I’m tempted to throw some cash at them; but, it feels like we’re looking at 2025 or later before they are even close to in the black again.

Norwegians financials are downright frightening. They are billions underwater and will likely pay down that debt before shareholders see a dime. In their best year they did $6.5B in gross revenue. Not profit, we’re talking about revenue. They are currently in at least $8B in debt.

Ouch looks like it was headed to Hawaii. At least it happened early and it got to land before it was halfway to Hawaii
