Brent thank you for the insight! I will be taking this quiz this evening and reviewing again the BOS sim stuff. I will more than likely knock that out tomorrow and then take the chapter quiz either Saturday or Sunday. Anyone have info on the layout of the strategy brief?

I do not but someone posted that Dr. James, via zoom session, said she would post an outline of her expectations on Moodle today.

True story. A's in everything but econ. 8th class in. 72 on quiz 1 and they gave me a 76 on the discussion :(

You know its bad when she sends an email out on how to dispute

I'm not digging the group stuff in MKT 701. My group was assembled late last night from the simulation, only one person has been in contact so far in my group. This whole class is just frustrating because she's doing a lot of trial and error. Her tests/quizzes are different than they were in the past, all assignments are different, group stuff, etc...... We're the "test run" for this new layout and she seems pretty confused and flustered with her comments from the zoom Session. She puts groups together on a Wednesday late evening and expects a 2-3 page group report on Sunday.

I'm done venting.

lsusports, She has conflicting deadlines. On the assignment schedule it says May 21 but in the zoom and instructions for the brief she says the brief and the Red Round runs are due by May 28. The brief has to be submitted before the 3 runs but I'm guessing you can do them all by next Sunday which makes more sense. Coming up with a strategy for this entire project and compiling it in paper format as a group effort by this Sunday is insane.

For those of you who scored well on the Family Business quiz in mindtap, how did you all study? Did you focus more on the PowerPoints or the text? I'm not really getting anything out of the text because it explains something then it goes into a story. Help please!

Does Dr. James not realize that we are not full-time students(at least the majority of us arent)? Furthermore, does she not respect our weekends or is she counting it as school day? For the amount of work that is needed, a good chunk of the weekend will be taken up. I don't mind using my weekends to study but to give an assignment where you must work on the weekends, that disrespectful if you ask me.

If you can't sacrifice 7 weeks of weekends and social life, then maybe you aren't cut out for this program. Problem solved.

Wolf, do you plan to dispute? I'm curious as to how successful that process is. We are in the same boat, A's in every course so far and will be finishing the program at the end of the summer with only electives left to take and I made a 78 on the quiz and a 78 on the discussion. Feedback was very ambiguous, said that there was too much story telling, well in my opinion I am writing about a specific workplace event and how that relates to the topics that we covered, so yea there will be some story telling. Hopefully we can improve from here once we know what they are asking for, but I have been having a tough time reaching the 1,000 words without some fluff.

MondayAMQB don't think I will dispute this time around, but I was halfway through with this weeks discussion. Now I have to scrap the entire thing because it is too "narrative." Come on now, I have to paint the scenario out before I can connect this week's concepts with my experience.

She said my discussion was well written, but "too general." Well so are her directions and feedback! Pretty difficult to blab on about one key point from each chapter to hit that word count. Worst course in the program.....

100% agree! I had trouble reaching the word count without fluff. The material is mostly common sense with a "fluffy" terminology for things. I made an 88 on my discussion, so I can't complain. I just really don't like classes with too much subjectivity and these discussions are exactly that. I replied to my coach using her exact words and assigning points based on her words and the grading rubric in the syllabus. I came out one point ahead. She then changed how she felt about whether my material was completely related to course material. (I covered diversity, inclusion, and then added in sexual orientation since it was mentioned in one of the chapters.) I'm fine with the point difference. She can keep it. I'm more frustrated about not being able to review the wrong answers on the exam and that pushed me to go through the lengthy discussion to prove the subjectivity that comes with any writing assignment. I'm just annoyed with the course right now and feel I will do well, but will probably retain/learn zero.

If anyone needs my "template" which I used to send my point breakdown by requirement via email, just let me know. Save someone the typing for future feedback requests. Lol

Yeah, that's cool and all, but I challenge you to review my posts and my contributions to this thread the past 12-18 months. You realize how many posters on here have commended me for my information and intricacies of the program.

Please do yourself a favor and come here with actual facts and not BS if you're going to play this game with me. It's preposterous and sophomoric of you.

Maybe so, but your last few were geared towards being negative towards other people who were coming here to vent. I didn't respond to you directly then and I'm not going to after this. Let's ignore each other.

Was there too much "negativity" when I opined that it was a 7 week sacrifice of one's social life/weekends?

I can vouch for Paul Allen. He's provided some sound knowledge throughout this thread. I don't think he meant what he said in a condescending way but more like, it's a Grad level course and with online classes you really have no "off days". Especially in a 7 week period, it's basically check your social life at the door. I started the program last July and after these 7 weeks are up (I'm in MKT 701 now) I'll finish with doubling up FIN 701 and ACCT 701 in Fall AP1. Some sessions were easier than others but a few were a pain in my arse. It's a testament of Will and it will be satisfying as Hell once you receive that Master's degree.
