I see that registration for Spring beings on 11.07.2016 (Monday) does anyone know where to find a listing of the courses that are going to be offered? I have looked on the website and I cannot find anything.

Hi Guys, just remembered to open this forum to check in.

I'm in MADM 701 with Williams right now. Just got my grades for Module 1 and bummed I got a 19/50 on the "Round Up" portion of the assignment.

The instructions state: "In this forum, you will articulate in two separate paragraphs for each chapter covered…" The way it's worded I took "paragraphs" literally. After viewing my fellow students responses, I noted that there were others who made the same error. So instead of writing the required 500 word minimum per chapter (so 1,000 total for the assignment on Chapters 1 & 2), I only wrote 365 total words. I was thinking this this 500 minimum was for the other Discussion assignment, of which I got a 100 out of 100 score on.

I gotta take responsibility for this as went back to check the syllabus and it clearly says 500 words per assignment and per chapter.

Well, now I know. I'm kinda surprised with a 2,000 word minimum per week. But it's not hard to come up with that and more with the subjects we're required to write on.

I ended up not doing well on the "roundup" either. I did a little over 1000 words total and still ended up with a 30.79 out of 50. I had a 50/50 on Monday, but she apparently changed my grade. She sent another email out last night saying she basically fired one of the teaching assistants, which was my teaching assistant, so I have no feedback on what to correct on the next one. I'm not getting a good vibe from this teacher, hopefully it gets better.

Same here. I made a freaking 30/50...ZERO feedback as well. So, my grade after module 1 is a 79.9. I'll be happy with a B, but you're right, I'm not liking this vibe at all.

I hate that they put so much emphasis into the writing assignments. Looks like we have 2 exams and a module 7 quiz. Maybe that'll help boost the grade.

Wow, I thought it was just me that messed up this Round Up. Sorry to hear that we're all in the same boat.

I really liked Dr. James int he marketing class I just finished as she had a student forum where we could ask her and other students questions. I wish we had the same forum in this class...

I too am scared of how the grading will go.

OMG, I am in ECON 705 and it is no pushover!! Any suggestions on how to approach the assignments. I dont know if i will make it out of this course with even a C. I am so lost and just on module 2. Has anyone else felt this way and ended up finally getting it and did well in the class. Feels like the first class in will be my last one I take! I have to make a "B" to get reimbursed from my employer, so that just adds more stress!!

ECON was miserable. I had Shaughnessy and his course was brutal. I made a 73% C as my final. It was tough. Don't know what else to tell you. Sorry.

ECON 705 is not a good class to start out the program with. My adviser told me to wait until later in the class once I'd built up my confidence and gotten accustomed to the workload and expectations of graduate level classes.

In MADM 701, has Williams graded yall's assignment from module 1 yet? I still don't have a grade yet, she did change my grade for my week 1 "roundup," I did a little better than I initially posted. Kind of nervous about the test next week.

Still don't have a grade either for the assignment. Why are you worried about the test?

I have not. I've only taken BADM 700 and 701, FIN 730, and MADM 760. I'm currently taking MADM 701 and BADM 790 which was a big mistake. The amount of work between the two classes is insane. I didn't know anything about BADM 790 and needed one more elective, so I decided to take it. She's required us to read a 350 page book week 1, and week 3 is another 285 page book reading assignment. There are weekly quizzes on the books plus a bunch of other busy work.

I am also in that ECON 705 class and it is more difficult that others I have taken. I would advise going to the ZOOM Sessions. He seems to work problems that are similar to test questions and I have found it very helpful. I agree with Socal77 that this is a tough class to start with in the program.

I made it through last week with a decent grade! On to next week! This is encouraging because it seems that if I can make it through ECON 705 for my first class I should be good to go for the remaining of the MBA! Any thoughts on combining Acct 701 and Fin 701 at the same time? Thank you to everyone who has responded.

Great attitude, GSMBA16! There's advantages of getting the tougher classes out of the way early on.
