Got a notification that my insurance will be shooting up around $60/ month starting next month. The only ding on my driving history recently was a small fender bender where I was at fault = $930 total bill to the insurance company.

Any recommendations on who would have the most competitive pricing in Louisiana? I've been with this company since 2012. I got a few quotes from Farm Bureau, Liberty Mutual, and Esurance. Farm Bureau looks to be the most competitive so far.

TIA

Safeco has been pretty good. However with them it was pretty similar to me. Fender bender and now my rates are 50% higher.

Progressive has been solid and pretty steady for me. Also really like that they give you and addition discount (I think 15% +) for paying in full every 6 months.

$60/month is a lot! I've never gone up more than $50 every 6 months in the last 5 years with them.

I just left Safeco and went through Geico. Saving $1500 a year. 2 autos and an RV.

I was just quoted by 2 agents with Safeco. Saving me about $1200/year.

I suppose I'll give Geico a call as well.

Met Life. I've saved big time since they cover both my cars and house.

National General or Safeco. Use the rewind program if available...profit.

On the claims side, GEICO is a terrible company.

How's SafeCo's customer service?

Progressive is the company I'm looking to get away from. They've done nothing but gone up on me since I've had them and there's been no reason for it. All they could tell me was "market adjustments."

My bro in law's family recently switched to Pharmacists Mutual. They cut their cost in half with more coverage compared to Allstate. I'm thinking about switching to them also but I would like to do more research on them before doing so.

How terrible?

Cause it's looking to save me about $2000/year.

Very hard time believing apples to apples

Geico rates are 6 months, can't just assume your year 1 premium will be first new biz 6 mo rates x 2

Yes. Right track is their new discount plug in promotion. Guaranteed 5% savings on liability rates upwards of maybe 25% or so per vehicle based on performance. Accidents no longer forgiven

Go to a big independent agency and let them shop it for you.

After doing some shopping apparently that one little ding puts me in a completely different (higher) risk bracket for the next 3 years. God forbid you need to use your insurance.

Looks like I'm getting the sandpaper shaft for a while.

Check out Insurance Network of Louisiana (assuming that's where you are)

I saved $40/mo and doubled my coverage going from State Farm to Metlife.
