A nice Tag Watch - wore it a lot when I got it, but don't wear a watch any more because it lends itself to rudeness in meetings.

I fully understand post 2008 I don't wear the brietling either in fact I put it in the strong box about a year ago for the exact same reason.

Because you hate your neighbors or because you get paid like a fry cook and can't afford a 3500sqft house?

900 oz. of silver at $32 per oz.

I haven't realized the loss and I guess it will
be pure profit for the grandkids someday.

I should have got a pole barn instead.

- Taking out a student loan and using it to spend a month in Florida
- Trading in a car I was upside down on just because I wanted something new
- Using student loan money to buy a "gaming" laptop that I used for 6 months

I'm not following the watch discussion.

How does it start anything?

I could have bought leather boots instead of ostrich and be happy, but I wear them often and like them so I try to justify.

Just bought a boat to spend the next few years fishing with the old man while he still can. Some would say it probably wasn't the wisest decision in my situation but my reason is important to me.

Don't regret eating out all the time with family and friends - gotta eat.

I'd say I could probably do without some of the pointless crap I've purchased from Cabelas, Basspro, and Academy.

I regret buying 22 shares. I could've easily bought 22,000 shares

Here's what it looks like as of 5 minutes ago:

My first home - tried to buy something affordable and "financially smart". Affordable meant neighborhood going to crap apparently. I had a realtor that didn't know the area. It was so hard to sell. I was the only person in the neighborhood who had any business owning a home (keeping up with yard and regular maintenance).

/end rant.

I may never get over that but hey isn't that what this thread is for? I feel better already.

ETA: Besides some untimely stock plays over the last year, there aren't many things I regret buying. I did spend a few grand over the course of a year and a half when I was a freshman in college on a pyramid scheme- back then that was a lot of money to me. Other than that, I have an 11 year old vehicle which has been paid off for about 6 years, have saved and invested significantly over the 6 years I have been working, and have still gotten to do everything fun I have really wanted to do. I am probably going to buy a new vehicle this year that will make for a poor financial decision but if I take care of it and can drive it for another 10 years, I won't feel that bad about it.

a crappy mid 90s chrysler. fun for a few years, then every possible plastic part broke, fell off, cracked, or stopped working. i'm talking exterior door trim, interior knobs and switches, etc. it's like all trim was fastened using bread ties and elmer's glue. talk about planned obselescence.

I invested in a friend's business at the tune of about $25k. Got dividends back totaling about $16k in four months and thought I had hit it big.

Ended up paying that $16k back and dropping another $25k to get out of it. The only ship that won't sail is a partnership, my friends. That one rash decision set me back several years.

Always do your research. And then when you think you have it figured out, research some more.
