I remember how great that felt. Congratulations!

I paid my last one off early because they kept screwing up and not crediting me for a double payment I was making. For about 6 months, I faxed the same canceled check to them, they agreed I was right, and said it was fixed (again).

The next month, no change. I finally asked the payoff balance. I told the guy, "I can't really afford to do this, because it will wipe out my savings, but I'm going to have to pay you stupid MFs off because I can't tolerate your f'ing stupidity and incompetence any more. I'm not sure if that was your goal, but if it was, you win."

Paid it off and became broke, but it felt awesome.

Congratulations! Definitely one of the best feelings when I made my final loan payment for undergrad.

Now I'm researching loans for when I go back to b school. It freaking kills me but it is what it is

Our loan finishes the 5yr interest only deal next December. Then I will have a 5yr balloon note with 10yr amortization. Note should be about $2200 a month. We'll pay an extra $1800 a month to make it an even $4000 a month. Should pay it off right at 60 months.

$200k plus for two people makes a lot of sense....one person, and it could spell trouble unless it is for a handful professions.

I'm trying to do mine with debt. It's not fun writing those checks but it's pennies over the long term. 20% done with my program.

Nice.

Admission decisions for me are 3 weeks away - I am on pins and needles for sure.

Getting in would be great but some extra $ on top would make my day.

Awesome, congrats! Can't wait until that day. I just cut mine down to 5 figures.
