Eating and hunting are standard. Big banks do that as well, but probably on a nicer scale.

You go on comped ski trips and you don't think you're overpaying.... That's some good stuff.

Are you suggesting that you don't think I'm right.

Those trips aren't paid for by donations to the bank.

You're talking about thousands of dollars hitting the expense account. Gross revenue on a $1M loan at 3.5% is only $35K. That's before cost of capital (~1% or $10k) and paying the business and credit staff.

Please point me to this bank, I would like to do business with them.

Exactly. There are like 1000s of VP at my bank. Its just a title. The ones that mean something are the EVPs, maaaybe SVP, but its pushing it.

He is for sure, I'm not a banker I don't think borrowers care about anything but about the rates and if you need some help will the help or just foreclose. Where they get money to woo business is not my problem

My bank took me trout fishing to the Ozarks. They're rule breakers. Not like the mighty large banks. Oh the might large banks. They've done so much for me. Like? Like? Well, I can't think of anything right now. I'm a rule breaker too though. Only one rule, make money. My little dinky bank has helped me make money. I like their small little podunk rules. I'll pay the ATM charges when I'm out of town.. I don't care.

Yeah I have no idea what that guy is talking about. Money is money and I can call on a Friday get money lined up and not have to go to committee or any of that bullshite.

Sounds like he's a teller at Wachovia

Since Wachovia was bought out in 2009 from Wells, I doubt it.

These reactions are stellar.

Trillhog is full of shite and this Iowa catdick is dead convinced that small banks can ball harder than national banks.

I've worked on single loans bigger than the entire portfolio of most regional banks. That deal generated a 52% ROE. The party for that closing had 1997 Dom served for the toast.

KISS. MY. arse.

This is why I can't post here. Y'all have fun.

Large banks for the win.

Bankers that work at large banks, for their annual salary of $72,000 for the win.

Golfer, just some mudstick, shite kicking Iowa poor boy. Doesn't know anything.

Didn't build that. The bankers built it and met a payroll. Except they didn't. They're employees.

Now I'm sure the bankers on here are nice gutys, and good at what they do. But if they are so friggin smart, why don't they start their own business, and make their own million.

Large banks have their place. They are just so f.... ing smug and arrogant it is almost laughable.

Now quit getting me worked up. It upsets my daily golf game.

And my little bank has larger market share in my area than the top 3 national banks combined. Our little shite kicking farmer bank is well over a billion.

back to my original question. if you can get a $1mil loan with no personal guarantee (1/2 mil down) then i would like to do a few of them. assuming a 2o+% roi, then i could get my 1/2 mil back in roughly 3 years. after that its free sailing, if project does well great, if it ever has trouble then just let it go under.

"worked on loans"? , meaning you got coffee for someone?

I never said there was anything wrong with a big bank dipshit, i just said for my needs it's way easier to deal with a smaller bank for loans of 1.5 mil or less which is all i ever do anyway.

idk why that guy is knighting so hard for a bank. I wasn't trying to trash anybody, i could give a frick about big bank little bank, all i was saying is i've been courted and have a easier time getting things done fast with smaller banks. now this guy is acting like he's doing business with blackstone.

I was pretty hard on him. Anyway, every bank has a place, it's just that guys that work at large banks don't ever seem to think if they can't do it that anyone else can. I take it a bit personally. They tend to talk down to the small guy.

I borrow money on my signature at under 4%. Unsecured. I'd love to see Bank of America do that for me.
