I'm considering using futureadvisor.com to manage my 401k asset allocation. Has anyone had any experience with it? If so is it worth it?

TIA

No.

I am shocked so very few people manage their 401K's and other employer sponsored retirement plans. It's stunning. Not even routine maintenance. It seems they have time to post to FB and other places while their employer is paying them, but don't have time to log on to their 401K's and make the simplest changes. Which are usually free.

I manage mine about 2-3 times a year. I try and spot trends in the funds that are available. I cut it up as much as I can between them.

ING Funds, I'm getting 7% so far this year, which isn't great but I haven't done much with it either.

Last year I managed heavily and got 14%.

Year before I got 22%

My 401k is doing horrible right now but I don't know enough about asset allocation to manage myself. So I'm seeking professional help. Anyone have any advice on asset allocation education?

I'm currently about halfway through reading All About Asset Allocation. I like it so far. Fairly easy read.
