I keep seeing ads about it being free which sounds nice but I'm not sure how great it is.

I've always used TurboTax.

Thoughts?

I believe this is the first year it is active. I am interested as well and will probably run it side-by-side with turbo tax to compare results vs. cost.

That is what I am doing now. I put most of my info in Credit Karma, but am waiting for some additional info to finish. Then I was going to compare to TT.

FYI, Credit Karma does not do State taxes.

I'm half-way through my LA return on Credit Karma.

My CK federal refund amount is within $3 of the TurboTax Tax Caster I did last night.

From their website...

I finished everything. The site is a little clunky...not as "clean" as TT. But I've been e-filing returns for a while now and I know which areas/deductions/etc I'm looking for.

Clutch find and saved me $85 plus the repeat of information on the LA Dept of Revenue site because I refuse to pay the state-add on when LA's site is easy to manage.

I used credit karma to file federal and state yesterday. The results matched turbo tax for both to the dollar.

Entered information into both tonight with same results. Free state and federal filing with credit karma.

You are paying too much. H&R Block is $35 for state and federal.

I plan on giving it a shot. It will be great if it carries over basic info from year to year.
