Depends on the company and pay period. I have been paid monthly, twice a month and every other week. All salaried.

Right now I am paid on the last day of the month and the first day of the month.

Huh? So you get paid on a Tuesday, than again on a Wednesday? That's bizarre.

Do you get a slight bonus if you're willing to work the 5pm-1am shift?

I don't do shift work anymore. But the answer to that is no. I got bonuses based on raw sales numbers. And let me tell you they fricking suck.

If you are self-employed, it is a bad month. All the same bills, with fewer days to make the money.

The only thing that is reduced is your hourly payroll.

I get paid on the 15th (13th or 14th if the 15th falls on a weekend) and the last business day of the month.

March sucks: 31 days. Get paid on the 13th and not again until the 31st.

I think you meant to say you are paid semi-monthly (24 pay periods in a year).

86.667 hours in a pay period.

Except that the rent is the same and most loan notes are, too (except that a bigger proportion of your payment will be principle)

However, I make more than I owe. So it's a net positive.

Seems rather silly. So you get paychecks on back to back days?
