Do Credit Card Transfer Miles Count Towards Airline Status?

I've been platinum on United the last couple years, but just looking at my flight history so far this year I'm not sure if I'll make it this year.

I've gotten a bit spoiled in platinum ha so I'm trying to find ways to augment my flying. I already have the United card for spending, but I still don't know if I'll make it.

I was wondering if the credit card bonuses count. I was going to get the Chase Saphire Preferred and then transfer the 50K miles to United, but I can't seem to find any info on whether this counts to my annual mileage count.

Does anyone know? Appreciate the help!

Ugh. Figured it was too obvious of a loophole, but thought I'd check anyways.

Thanks folks!

If United is like American you can buy miles to add to your status qualification.

Talking out of my arse here, but I believe there is something with Southwest that allows a transfer to count. No clue on United.

The only reason that sounds right to me is I got companion and in reading about it, that topic was mentioned.

Depending on how many more miles you'd need you can do mileage runs to requalify for status. Just do the cost-benefit analysis

Lsu81

Points from the Chase credit card count towards the 110k requirement for earning the companion pass. Which is "top tier status" at Southwest. So you are right

Yeah, its top tier, but those points if done by the CC don't count towards A-List

I should get there this year, but disappointed they don't.

What is the companion status? Does the points have to be in the account at one time, or can it be over the course of a year?

110k pts within one calendar year. Can get points via Chase CC, some transfers, or earned flights.
