What happened? Is it against the rules somehow?

Because there is a lack of truth in those type of threads

A single tumbleweed would blow through the OT if this were the reason.

Too much naked honesty.

It seemed decent. Probably a true 50/50 thread of honesty.

The ole boy, at 30yo, posting about Mega Backdoors at the end caught my attention. He had only found out about them three years ago but had $235k in a Roth.

Maybe with 15 years of contributions at $6k and Mega back door contributions for the last three years it might be possible. You just never know with these threads.

Was wondering myself. Can’t imagine why it would get axed.

Close. 3 Years of maxing mega backdoor roth. 8 years of maxing roth IRA. 4 years of maxing Roth 401k early in career.

Impressive, dude! I'm jealous of a Roth account that large. Hold onto that mega backdoor. They are seemingly few and far between to find in company sponsored plan these days.

Weird that OP would delete it yet leave up his other thread scheming to use his IRA to finance his kid's house.

I think I could buy that story. I think I've seen him post here a bunch and I might recall he's from Dallas.

Maybe he has some old, Highland Park money and that's how he and his wife had several $100,000 in brokerage accounts by 30.

Maybe he's some badass financial expert.

Maybe he's a liar on the internet. Who knows?

I just took a spin through his post history out of curiosity, and he actually looks legit. Looks like he got an MBA and pivoted into the tech industry in Cali, which would explain a lot. It's easy to rapidly accumulate savings when RSUs/options are a large part of your total comp, esp given the crazy market runup on the FAANG companies.

So the OP wanted to have a dick measuring contest, but when he found out his wasn't the biggest he cancelled the contest?

I liked the post to (a) try to figure out who was being honest and who was full of shite, and (b) get a gauge of where others are in their lives. Wildly inappropriate to ask people about their financial situation, but you know we're all curious, so if you get an anonymous board like this and people choose to be honest about their finances, I think it's interesting to see where folks are and where you measure up. That's why I'm a bit bummed the thread was deleted.

No backdoor ROTH but I do get a 457 and a 401k so that's cool.
