Will, here is a post I replied to one of your threads with data from 2011. This is the actual breakdown for EFX beacon from that time period

I am currently at 767. I suppose it could be higher, but the score likely took a hit from cancelling 2 non-downgradeable credit cards that had big promotions but an annual fee after the first year.

I'm in the 770 range, divorce 13 years ago still fricking it up. I don't need credit so it's just not worth cleaning the exes bs bad debt off when it gets resold and reinserted. I offered the cc companies a settlement to pay off her debt to clean up my credit and they said no. Dumb move, back then I cared about credit and was willing to cough up thousands to make her bad debt go away

FICO 772 checking in.... They said my credit card debt was too high compared to my cash balances on hand. I pay all my expenses on my cards and float work expenses but I always pay my balances in full so I never pay interest.... I guess the high revolving balances are what might be keeping me below 800....

Puzzled by why anyone would care what the # was unless you need to borrow other ppls money. If you've got plenty of cash in the bank, what diff does it make? Though my +820 made the zero percent car financing easy to get.

Mine was 830 last year. the wife was 810 or so.

We are slaves to the system and big banks that we even care about this .

My wife's credit score, according to TransUnion, a free service from Discover.

How accurate is that service. I'm asking because for the last 6 months mind keeps bouncing from 808 to 803, back to 808... I don't think I am doing anything different.

It could be card utilization. That can swing your score a few points, especially if you don't have a gigantic availability number.
