From what I'm reading, I think I would have preferred to study for the new version of the exam rather than the old one.

I wonder how long it will take the Beckers and Wileys to catch up to the new testing. I would be hesitant to spend the money on any of those for a few months to possibly a year.

Some of us aren't really going to have a choice, just going to have to bite that bullet. I think it should be fine.

I just ordered Becker this week, but I got it for free. I will report back as I get in my studies regarding the changes and how well they are adressed.

I am assuming that your employer paid for it?

I'm not sure why I got downvoted, but okay.

Maybe I have a downvote stalker.

Prepare for a non-existent social life for the next few months. It's well worth it though.

I'm taking regulation. The exam is suppose to emphasize critical thinking. So I imagine it's going to focus on amt and like exchanges, right?

I'm not watching that over-caffinated toolbag for 20 minutes, so I don't know what he says.

The new exam should allow for a better entry-level CPA.

Keep in mind if you don't know this already (or if Roger didn't tell you) that the Q2 and Q3 score releases will likely be delayed. AICPA isn't even calibrating scores until June.

I just missed being completely done by 1 point. I got a 74 on a REG retake.

My AUD credit just expired and now I have to take both REG and AUD in the new format.

Reg is mostly tax questions from what I remember, Becker will make you go off studying all those crap on check signings etc, but it's 90% tax.

Took Reg today. I think I did ok, with possible failure. The DRS wasn't too bad. Not alot of corporation stuff, which was surprising.

I have Bec at the end of the month, then Auditing at beginning of July. I'm planning to read a ishtload on IT (may even watch youtube videos). I will gloss over economic/business structure/etc. and focus on formulas (and when they need to be used).

Mostly tax? Yes.

90% tax? Absolutely not

Passed my CPA before the changes occurred. The new test are not too much different except for BEC which has sims. Glad to be done. I think the AICPA is trying to make the exams a bit harder to make the entry to be a CPA more prestigious and harder to get
