This CSR looks pretty hard to pass up, but the only drawback I see is that it won't let me in the Delta Sky Club lounges. Delta is my primary carrier and I am gold in their rewards program.

Any of you gents use the CSR and can you get in other airport concierge lounges with this card? I fly through Atlanta a good bit, so is there a lounge in ATL that honors this card?

Any other reasons I should choose CSR over Amex Platinum?

TIA

Except lounge access to Sky Club, CSR is better in every way. Better points earning potential, better points program and better partners.

However, rumor has it that AmEx is dropping a CSR competitor tomorrow. Hang tight for a day.

The ONLY reason to have the platinum is if you want acces to the Delta lounges. Other than that, the card is crap. I just cancelled mine. Other than the 100k sign up bonus, I never used the card.

You get access to any of the Priority Pass lounges with the CSR. At ATL, I believe there is one located in the international terminal.

If you want access to the Skyclub, you will have to keep the amex plat or switch to the DL reserve amex.

Yeah, I have AMEX gold and keep getting offers for the Platinum but don't see the incentive. Gold give me points for air and hotel travel, but it looks like CSR pays for the $450.00 annual fee.

You ever been to a Centurion lounge? If you fly to/from an airport with one, this alone is worth $450/year. Which of course doesn't factor in the air travel reimbursement, TSA precheck or any other benefits. Hell, I've drank $100 worth of free cocktails at DFW during a long layover.

I've never been to a Centurion Lounge. Please explain. What card is needed for this lounge?

ETA: I looked this up and it appears you can get in with an AMEX Plantinum but you have to pay an extra $50/person. Is that right? If so, that sucks to have to pay $450.00 then another $50.00 on top of that to get in the lounge.

You don't have to pay $50 per person. My wife and I use the Centurion Lounge in Miami. All I have to do is show my card.

Primary card holder + 2 guests are free. This is NOT WORTH THE $450! I keep saying this. They are not that THAT much nicer than other lounges. You can get free food and drinks at any other lounge anyway. Sure it is not gourmet food but who cares.

Besides, there are only 7 airports with these lounges. And these lounges are CROWDED. Dallas and Miami especially. One in Vegas was actually very good.

Been going through this for a while though. Usually the only time I fly internationally is for work and they pay for business/FC so I go to the lounges anyway. Don't really fly enough otherwise to really need the lounges. Every time I redeem AMEX points it never seems to be worth a crap to me, I have 230k now and just got the CSR instead of going AMEX platinum. Already hit the $4k spend just by charging my car insurance LOL.

When you guys are saying AMEX Platinum, that is not the same as the Delta AMEX Platinum is it? That's the one I have.

Same here. It does give a $200 travel credit per year. I'll probably keep it because I can dump very large business purchases on it. Other than that I'm not seeing a great benefit to that card for me.
