Hey guys, I am looking at some credit cards that give airline miles with purchases and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. So far it seems like these come up the most when I search:

Chase Sapphire Preferred Card

Barclaycard Arrival Plus World MasterCard

Credit is very good so there is no issue there.

I second the CSP card. 1:1 transfer to different partners for points. The 50,000 bonus pts after spending $4,000 in 3 months equates to $625 worth of travel through Chase ultimate rewards, or could simply transfer to a partner like SW and pay for virtually 2 roundtrip flights at least.

This alone easily pays for the annual fee of $95 each year, just with the savings from the flight cost of SW.

Get a southwest card. I think they offer 60,000 points for signup and only need 40,000 more to get a companion pass. Way better than any other points card IMO.

Who do you fly with? I'm stuck with United, so I went with the United Club card. Gives me lounge access, and cancels out the dollar qualifier for Premier status.

Not a frequent flyer anymore. Just bored in this city and want to start racking up some miles to travel.

I love that my Chase Sapphire Preferred card can transfer points to multiple different airlines.

Get the business card and you would be to the 110k point threshold.

The most lucrative time to get the companion pass is at the start of each year. That is mainly because when earned, the pass is good through the current and next calendar year.

If you travel a lot, try the airline cards. I have the Delta Reserve but I'm basically flying every week. They usually have a month or two every year where they offer a lot of miles to sign up.

If you don't travel a lot, look at the Chase Saffire.

Also, the Delta Platinum is currently offering 60,000 bonus miles to sign up. It comes with a free companion pass every year for main cabin.

I'm Interested in this thread as well, I have the venture card and have been very pleased with Capital One so it'd be tough for me to switch to the Chase Sapphire unless it's really that much better. You can transfer your points with the venture to any airline as well.

I mainly fly with Delta and looking to go back to Greece in 2 years with the wife. I currently have 50k miles with Delta and get about 6-7k points a month with the Venture card. So sell me on the reasons for going over to Chase Sapphire.

I recently got a Chase Sapphire. If you can spend $4k in a few months, you get 50k miles for whatever airline mileage program you want. My company usually flies me on United or Southwest, so I can use the miles on either.

Are you going to fly a specific airline? If so go with their card. If not, yes the CSP or Ink Plus are great options. I have the Ink + and it's better imo than the CSP but it's a business card (which you can still get).

SPG is a good card in the sense that it works with most airlines at 1:1 and gives a 5,000 mile bonus when you transfer 20,000 points to your airline of choice. Plus you get good hotels options with them although that could be changing in the next year or two.

Need more info. There's a long thread that you can read about this and/or post in it.
