Stoneville has been sold numerous times. I think Monsanto owned them befits get bought DPL. It's an anti-trust issue. The new company would have a huge percentage of the cottonseed business. Hornbeck really makes no difference because all of their genetics is bought from Monsanto anyway. Really just redundant other than the Liberty Link technology. Industry feels this seed business would be sold completely including the sales staff. BASF wants badly to get in the seed business and it would tuck into Syngenta nicely too.
Liberty is also an anti-trust issue. The only 2 dominant technologies in soybeans are roundup ready and liberty link. . No way they can keep both. You would expect liberty to be bought along with the seed business

Anyone have any insight on Potash or Nitrogen? I see they're all in the doldrums again. POT has been an EASY swing trade since the spring, oscillating between $15 and $18 will bewildering consistency...it's in the $15s again...
IPI is tempting too at $1.15
It can swing 20% in a day. The range on this one has been from 90 cents up to $1.65 and it's spent A LOT of time in the $1.30-$1.40 range. Seems like another short term play is in store.

Potash Corp and Agrium have reached an agreement to merge as equals. With grain prices down I don't see much potential for rising potash or nitrogen prices. I wouldn't expect any grear returns on any of the stocks
