Does anyone hold a good bit of BAC? I was thinking of jumping in for the long haul.

All the charts I looked at show banks being one of the only sectors to benefit from rates rising.

I'm pretty green at this so set me straight if I'm way off.

I don't know if you consider it a 'good bit' or not but I own 5,000 shares. I've ridden it up from about $13 to where it is today.

They just increased their dividend by 50% I believe. Curious, why does the financial sector trade at such low valuations compared to the overall market?

I would like to know this as well.
Last I checked BAC was around .68 price to book. But the sector average was right around 1. So all in all the entire sector trades right at or just below book value.

I was also looking at air lease (AL) which is trading below book and the industry average, while be it a small industry, is way higher.

I don't own many shares but made a one time "buy and hold" investment at $15.48 which is finally starting to look like a good one.

This stock seems to react best to talk of higher interest rates.
