Added to watch list

The upside is not apparent to me in this environment where consumer spending on discretionary items will tighten. With that being said, I’m happy to own the stock right at or below $30 as I think that’s when it becomes ‘cheap’. So I’ll continue to monitor it.

Anyone still trading ASO? Up 14% on the day but I expect to see a pull back tomorrow.

Take a look at BJ's Wholesale. Could be the next costco if they keep expanding West in the next decade. Still relatively cheap. We use the one out here in Jax and they have stores thru out the midwest and east coast.

ASO will be back to $50 in 18 months or less..... this is easy money

Price on OP date (5/24/22) - $27.xx

4 months later (9/4/22) - $49.52

Told ya so?

ETA: p/e multiple is still low relative to peers; upside at a discount, def adding if it pulls back

I'm up 40% since getting in thanks to this thread! Don't normally take stock tips from TD or trade individual stocks much at all. Won't be making a habit of it.

I bought on 5/24 at 27.03 because of this thread. up 81% as of writing this.

Going to stick it out a little longer. I spend enough at Academy to justify a higher price than this.

Great company
Better ran when the Gouchman's held it privately
Nike has picked Dicks over them in better goods
I really Like Academy though

I've never viewed Academy as a place to go to get the latest and greatest of anything including shoes, sports equipment, hunting supplies, etc. But they offer a ton of stuff that is good enough for 90% of people who would rather save a few dollars than wear the latest Jordan's etc.

And they have improved their offering over the last few years, adding things like North Face and Yeti

This x1000, and when people need other things they tend to go to Academy. It is a great place to buy other stuff on the cheap like grilling supplies.

I know locally the Academy locations in town are always busy. Dicks on the other hand normally just has a few people in it.

When will you all pull your money from ASO? There's going to be a ceiling, i would imagine, before it starts to level off?

Congrats to all who jumped on this layup ... btw, still a value.

Still holding and probably will for a long time with them implementing the divvy now. They have grown sales, reduced debt, and stuck to their plan of store openings. So really hard to complain

Only nitpick is they are not leveraging their website very well. It is a jumbled mess and I do not know anyone who uses it regularly. I think if they streamlined it with more promotions with pick up in store, they could drive more business.
