Have you looked at oxy's balance sheet lately? And it was bad before this crisis, we'll see what earnings bring next week
Icahn needs to accelerate VH's exit.

If you've been paying attention they are taking some pretty drastic measures right now, which are necessary, but not a good sign nonetheless.

I'll give you that the upside is there, but it's nowhere near the "safer O&G".

State your case for why you see Oxy as a safe/good bet.

For guys in the industry, what are few good O&G plays right now?

In my experience, guys "in the industry" have a very biased point of view on the outlook of the industry and specific companies.

There are none right now. You missed the low prices. There’s been a few big jumps lately so not a good time to get in right now imo. Wait for a few big drops and buy into Chevron or one of the other majors.

XOM jumped up 50% from lows in late March even with negative oil prices.

O&G goes up while the Dow is down. Think the same thing happened last couple weeks too.
Anyone know what to expect on MRO's earnings call this week? I'm up nearly 70% and considering cashing out before the call.

20% layoff executed this past Thursday...still upside down, but retail investors are jumping in both feet.

If you are looking for short term profit then cash out. If you want to triple your money in a year or two then hold it.

Take a look at WHD. Company is really well run and they don't have any debt on the balance sheet. I scooped some up at $10.15 and will probably buy more at the next dip. Great fleet of equipment and manufacture quality equipment. Own about 35% of the market share currently and will be in a much better position coming out of this than anyone else. Either going to start buying up competitors or just smother them.

I think so. I have a lot in OXY. I think it’s one of the safer O&G plays with a lot of upside
