Long story short. I just bought a new home in Oxford, MS. Five minutes from the stadium, beautiful neighborhood, three BR and two BA. I do not like Ole Miss or wish to participate in their game day festivities. I would love to use it a weekend joint for incoming Alumni. Some rent their places in the neighborhood for $1-2,000 for a Friday night-Sunday morning deal. This is insane to me and I want to partake.

What are the best sites to advertise this kind of stuff?

1. Why do you have a house in Oxford?

2. I do not like Ole Miss nor wish to participate...

3. Try VRBO to advertise it.

Man, just got a job there. I love the city, just hate Ole Miss. Good folks there.

The secret to this would be a sky high deposit with iron clad verbiage/terms.

Otherwise you're gonna get it trashed.

Do you need the money that bad? I just wouldn't want strangers fricking and living in my personal home.

Use airbnb. They guarantee the host up to 1million and have made good on their promises so far. Call your insurance agency and let them know as well.
You should be able to make a killing, but it will be a pain to vacate your house every weekend, clear out your fridge and pantry, and lock up all personal belongings.

First, be sure your HOA or neighborhood assn doesn't prohibit short term rentals....

exactly. They are going to tell you no no matter what. Just do it and wait until they give you a warning, if they ever do.
