Check out some private colleges in your area. Belmont and Lipscomb here in Nashville have special courses called Summer Accounting Institutes that will help you bridge the gap of not having undergrad accounting courses. The courses are Masters level and thus count for more hours towards the CPA exam than say an undergrad class at LSU. Then once you are done, literally in one summer, you go into the Masters of Accounting program and by the time you are done you have enough hours to sit for the CPA exam. If you tried to start from scratch at say MTSU, it would take you several years. People can be done at Lipscomb or Belmont in 1.5 years.

had a friend that did the correspondence course for a forensic accounting class at LSU.
It worked out really well....did it on his schedule and learned a good bit of useful information for the workplace.

If you plan to sit for the CPA in Louisiana, since you have a bachelors and masters, you can't get credit from a CC to count for your hrs to sit for the exam. You will have to get the credit from a 4 yr college.
