And MMR is not "done". They have been bought out, along with PXP, by a huge company with more access to cash, so I would assume they are gonna pour more resources into completing(fracking) the davy jones and its companions.

MMR is done and Moffet bought out MMR with his other company Freeport....it's a bailout...Davy Jones is also done-zo.

I think there is little doubt that this sub salt Wilcox play is working though, see Anadarko's new discovery (Shennadoah or something)

Now they just have to figure out how to complete it!

FYI there are Wilcox reservoirs in the DW that have already been successfully completed and produced. Similar pressures as the onshore Wilcox but much cooler temperatures.

So what's the latest on this well? Did Chevron give up on the Lower Wilcox because of any logging or testing - or just because of the mechanical issues they were having?

They are setting some plugs in the well and a whipstock. So maybe they are junked up above even the proposed Yegua zone?

ETA: Nevermind. The approved permit online says they are sidetracking out at 22400 and going all the way back down below 30000 feet. Holy crap. I'll check back in 2014 to see if they are completing yet.
