This was a deal out of nowhere. A lot of people on all ends of this signed NDA's for it to get this far without any rumors in the market.
Some people were just saying "I know nothing" after this deal was announced.

I see Amazon using a flex driver model to drive close-in grocery distribution to customers. Up to now Amazon has had no neighborhood distribution model for grocery delivery. Now it can test the model. If it makes money then carry on-if not bail then sell off the WF leases for profit.

Fed Ex would be a good target at 55 billion on the market cap , it's doable from Wal Mart's point of view. Wal Mart understands the logistics business far better than Amazon does with it's fleet of trucks and warehouse system

Time to bust up Amazon.

Bezos is already putting pressure on Whole Food nutriceutical providers to stop providing products to competitors.

Man, a lot of folks don't give Amazon enough credit.

Amazon has its own warehouse system of considerable size, and it understands the logistics business SO WELL that they manage to coordinate third party contractors to move most of their products around.

Amazon hired people from FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc to break into the logistics and transportation business a couple years ago. So they know what they're doing moreso than most.

I guess once the deal us done the entire US will be paying sales tax since there will be a presence in each state.

So when does WMT get the boot from the Dow, and AMZN takes over?

Until about 2 years ago Amazon relied entirely on USPS, Fed Ex, and UPS to deliver product to the end user (last mile). They have just started up a separate division called AMZL which is their own internal UPS/FedEx/USPS company to deliver product to the end user. You think Amazon might figure out how to get their product from the warehouse to the door eventually by using their own internal distribution center? Don't bet against it..
