Just how freaked out / concerned should the average person (with 401K, Roth, stocks and such) be?

Is it time to find the ledge of a building?

Yes. You're an awful stock picker. The market is down but is only the stocks you own.

I'm gonna go with no. Depends on your age. The younger you are the better this is.

In 2008-2009 the Dow dropped to 6,600. In May of this year it was 18,000+. Assuming you are not retiring in a year or two, all will be well.

Are you retiring tomorrow? If not then ride the wave down and continue to contribute to your account. Noting better than buying cheap

No. You're Navy, a branch of the Marine Corp, stay calm in the face of fear. It will pay huge.

So much volatility. There are hedge funds making an absolute killing right now. These are the days you wait for.

Don't panic now. A 10% correction from time to time is necessary and healthy for the stock market.

This, but it sucks when you've already hit your 401k limit for the year.

Unless you are retiring in the next 5 years, no need to freak out. I'm actually very excited because it provides some great buying opportunities

I am not worried for myself.

I am more worried for my parents and other folks looking to actually retire.

F it, anyway ... most who work, will work until they die ... and those who don't, will leech until they die.
