Is this legit for $55?
I wonder about security and having to scan all my credit cards into my smartphone and then have that data sent over the airwaves to this new type of all in one card.

what's to stop the waiter or cashier from accidentally hitting the button and changing the card that's being used?
seems like a interesting idea but I have too many question that need answering before I put all of my info onto that thing...neat though

One of the points blogs did a writing on this thing earlier this year and pointed out some issues with it that I didn't think about. I'll see if I can dig it up.

How many credit cards do you need to carry for this to be useful? I only carry two Amex cards. I don't see the point in reducing it to one.

awesome idea but a few things i can think of:
while it uses your regular cc, i can see businesses being confused and refusing to accept it as a form of payment; it doesn't have your name or an expiration or a ccid or even a card number on it.
you still need all of your cards to purchase stuff online or even some stores ask for an expiration or the last 4 to confirm your id
do you trust it enough to not malfunction when you are carrying it and not your other cards
some hacker will probably find a way to allow a waiter or anyone to dump all of your cc info to their phone
it seems like it would be really sensitive to damage
i really don't like the idea that it emits a bluetooth signal potentially radiating my entire credit information to anyone in the area.
eta: i see it shows last 4/exp.
also if it goes out of range it deactivates. it claims to have a range of 80ft, but if its like any of my other bluetooth devices that's more like 10ft.

yeah, it's cool but the value just isn't there for me either. I have a business card, and 4 personal credit cards that I rotate depending on the bonus category. even then, it's just not worth $100 to me.

I could see there being a few issues with it, but in concept WANT.
Once the US starts using the more of the mobile card reading technology that you see in Canada and you don't have to let go of your card I can see this being much more feasible.

Question: So it says if it gets out of distance with your phone, that it shuts down so it can't be used or whatnot; so what happens when you go to a big restaurant and the waitress takes your card to run it? Do you have to give her your phone too, so the too are within proximity?

I think I read this feature can go 80 feet.
Any more than that, then yes.
ETA: I found what I had read about earlier this year.

No offense, but things like this make me wonder how lazy or irresponsible some people are. Is it that difficult to keep 3-4 cards in your wallet? It's not like they're giant bricks you have to lug around with you, it's a damn credit card.
Why would I want to expose myself to God only knows how many issues in security and fraud simply to reduce my wallet weight/size by an ounce?
